Let’s go juicing!
I’m a big fan of Juicing and so I thought of creating a blog about juicers. Believe me, I’ve tried a lot of them.
So if you’re one of those growing number of people who want to make a significant lifestyle change, eat more raw foods and fruits, then I advice you get a juicer.
You may say ‘I already have a blender’ but a blender is different from a juicer. You see, in order to maximize the benefits of juicing both fruits and vegetables, you must include each and every part, the stems, seed, skin and pulp because that’s where all the nutrients are. You can’t do that with a blender. You can but it won’t be as effective as a juicer.
How much does a juicer cost? Well, the price varies. Some cost only $99 while the high end juicers cost as much as $2400.
Below are some of the popular brands (and good ones, if I may add):
- Champion Juicer – it’s a bit pricy at $229 but it’s very durable. It’s known to last for more than 20 years. This juicer is a masticating type of juicer.
- Breville Juicer – the juicing speed of this juicer is amazing. You can enjoy a glass of juice in 5 seconds. This juicer is the centrifugal type and the price range from $99 to $299.
- Jack Lalanne Juicer – this is a very popular juicer because Jack Lalanne is well known in the health and fitness industry. Like the Breville, this is a Centrifugal Juicer. It’s not as expensive as the other brands and costs between $99-149.
- Green Star Juicer – Although this juicer is very expensive, I like it because of its versatility. It can juice practically anything! It has a twin gear which is not very common among juicers. The price ranges from $450-650. It’s take me a while to clean it so this juicer is not for those who wants something that is quick and easy to clean.
- Juiceman Juicer – I highly recommend this centrifugal juicer because it is affordable (price is from $99 to $169), has a strong motor, has multi-speed options and a childproof safety feature. It doesn’t juice wheatgrass though but this is not a big deal as it can juice a whole lot of fruits and vegetables.
- Norwalk Juicer – this is the original juicer, created by Dr. Norman Walker in 1934. This is actually the best juicer as it has the highest juice yield among the other juicers, but extremely expensive at $2,399! Dr. Walker’s company is still around, producing high quality efficient juicers in Bentonville, Arkansas. The Norwalk juicer’s method of juice extraction is based on a hydraulic system which put a 2000 pound pressure on the produce.
So there you go. If you’re planning on purchasing a juicer, check out these brands.
Great stuff…
